"Nokia unveiled a shell for one of its mobile phones Wednesday that will enable users to swipe the phone near a terminal to make payments.
The company said in a statement that the shell will work with its Nokia 3220 phone and will used near-field communications (NFC) technology. Using that technology, the user need only touch a point-of-sale terminal to complet a transaction. The company said that payment information, such as credit card details, are stored on an integrated smart chip. Besides making payments, the technology also can be used for ticketing for transit or events."
